Whether you are just visiting and want to see what Danish kendo is like or have moved here and want to try/continue kendo, we are delighted to meet you. Diversity makes our community richer and it is always a pleasure to have new kendoka in the group.
About us
Kendo started in Denmark in the mid 1980s and we became members of the FIK in 1987. Since then kendo has slowly grown in Denmark and we are still a relatively small community, but one full of passion and enthusiasm. For many years kendo was only found in Copenhagen, but over the last 20 years, it has blossomed in Fyn and Jylland. Just since 2021, we have had three new clubs open bringing our number of dojos up to 10 and in the last decade started up a national team, that since 2015 has become a permanent part of the federation and recently is expanding to better access talent all across Denmark. All our trainers are fluent in English, a couple are even native speakers, and we are open to people from all walks of life.
