1)

The status of the federation has never seen a fundamental change. It was made on a template for standard Danish club statues in 1987. It is not what is commonly used on a Danish federation level for multi-stranded organizations like the DKF.

The problem for us is size. On the organization side, we are not big enough to carry a full multi-stranded statut. But it would be beneficial to start looking in to what basic changes it would be possible to implement.

As it stands today the status says that the board can make decisions if 3 people attend a board meeting.

It was agreed on by this board, that we arbitrarily tighten the rule, so that the board will need 4 attendees to make a decision. Simple majority vote is still used to make decisions.

It was also agreed to start a discussion and working to figure out the best approach on changing the status of the federation to a more suitable solution. There has been no deadline set on this work because of the complexity of the task. But we will start the debate on our board forum and hopefully have a better idea on the approach by end of this year.

2)

A housekeeping item on timings for meetings was debated:

Sundays 20:30 are the most realistic timeslot for meetings. Second Sunday every month.

75 min max. time limit was agreed upon.

3)

Historically there has been no set standards for what was needed to be a kendo instructor in the DKF. The reason for this has been, that it would not be possible to grow kendo in Denmark, if low level kendoka was not able to facilitate instruction. Over time the technical level has developed quite significantly and it would be a good time to start working on a collective baseline framework on instruction.

Workshop for instructors is meant to be a forum were club instructors can test and debate instruction skills. They will have the possibility to gain experience and new perspectives on their function and a network that can help and support their function. The hope is that this in turn will help develop a baseline for the skillset that instructors need.

The workshop will be by invite only to existing instructors.

The subject was debated and the framework was approved.

David is control of this process going forward. Next update will be at the next meeting.

4)

The debate of a DKF Dan grading structure, was initiated by David. The idea is to make an umbrella structure were all club managers and shinpan can cooperate within the framework of the DKF.

Taeseong has been in contact with the Italian kendo federation and on basis some of their templates, has made a substantial draft outline of the structure. He will continue to work on the outline and the hope is, that it will be ready for review before the next board meeting.

After the outline is finished the board will work on how to incorporate it into the DKF and what changes or add-on’s need to be made to make it work.
