And What's Up With the Danish Kendo Club's for June?
Herning participated in the municipality’s Active Vacation Days program for the last week of June, providing kendo for youths within the area.
Aalborg held a great outdoor party at Søren’s house to celebrate a their lovely first kendo season.
Aarhus finished out the season with beer and ramen after keiko.
Horsens did a cool demonstration in cooperation with other kendoka from Herning, Vejle and Nordfyn kendo clubs in for the city’s ‘Relay for Life’ event.
Nordfyn also did an awesome kendo demonstration with participation from Aarhus, Vejle and Horsens kendo clubs for a local festival.
Odense gained a new member and the head trainer took a trip to Roninkai to teach 13 eager students.
Næstved had a guest keiko with David Mwaipaya from Gakushinkan and then another from Benjamin, of Ny Købing Falstar, currently from Australia.
Frederiksberg has been training outside, and recently held a major fairwell keiko for their dear member Elise who is returning to China.
København had an excellent kyu shinsa followed by a delightful in-house taikai. The winners were Oleg in first place, Oliver in second with Nabil and Lasse tied for the third slot.
DKF has recovered several sets of used bogu, held a board meeting and set a date for the extra assembly to have a changing of the guards on the treasurer position.
There was also a gasshuku on Sjælland. This is the first time there have ever been two summercamps in Denmark, providing equal access to this important type of activity for kenshi across the whole country. The event included a small shinsa and bogu test, a suikawari and the obligatory consumption of much beer and slightly inebriated jigeiko late at night.
